Rocket Routine

Rocket Routine OS vs. ChatGPT

In short: With ChatGPT Work and Dots, ChatGPT brings AI agents into daily work, for teams as ChatGPT Business or Enterprise. The system you lead your company with, you build and run yourself on top of it. In Rocket Routine OS it is there: yearly plan, goals, meetings and work in one place, and a person checks work that needs a check.

What makes ChatGPT strong

ChatGPT Work is a feature in ChatGPT, not a plan of its own. Per OpenAI, it uses "your apps, files, tools, browser, and approved business context" to create docs, decks and spreadsheets. You give it a goal, schedule recurring work, or ask it to watch for updates. In plan mode you approve the plan before work starts, and it checks in when judgment or approval matters.

Then there are Dots, "always-on agents": a dot keeps making progress between conversations, uses Codex and your connected tools, and can be reached in ChatGPT, Slack and Microsoft Teams. It works on its own cloud computer. For teams there is ChatGPT Business, per OpenAI for 2 to 200 employees, and ChatGPT Enterprise through sales. Connections include Google Workspace, Slack, GitHub and Microsoft 365.

Governance: where it stands today

For a dot, you manage its permissions and decide when it can act on its own or needs your approval. Custom rules can allow an action, require approval for it, or block it. Business brings SAML SSO, admin roles and an admin console, and per the pricing page OpenAI does not train on Business and Enterprise content.

What still holds: the Compliance API with records of conversations and agent activity, role-based access control and the choice of data residency are Enterprise only. We found no decision rules for a whole company and no check of work by a person against a definition of done.

What that costs you in practice

ChatGPT Work is part of every ChatGPT plan, limited and desktop-only on Free and Go. For a team, ChatGPT Business costs $20 per user a month billed annually, from 2 users, or $25 billed monthly. Dots need a Premium seat on Business, Pro from $100 a month, or Enterprise, which OpenAI prices individually. Prices in USD as shown on OpenAI's pages, as of 8 November 2026.

Business and Enterprise can buy credits for more usage. Starting in December, per OpenAI, ChatGPT and Codex share one usage limit.

Documents, research and agents in Rocket Routine OS

What ChatGPT Work does, the AI agents in Rocket Routine OS do too: research, documents, presentations, charts and analyses, including recurring work like the weekly finance report. They research the web, operate on-screen interfaces in the browser and deliver results you can open and share. When you close your laptop, they continue working.

In Rocket Routine OS this work is tied to your company: every task is a work item linked to its area and to the goal or outcome it serves. You set the adoption level for each AI agent, and a person checks work that needs a check against the definition of done before it counts.

Why not just build it yourself with ChatGPT?

With ChatGPT Business, Projects, Skills and Dots you can put a lot together yourself. The system you lead your company with, you then build yourself: goals linked to a plan, a meeting rhythm, decision rights, an adoption level for each AI agent, a person's check against a definition of done, and an AI head for every area, an AI agent that leads it. And you run all of it next to your actual job: you adapt it when something changes and fix it when something breaks.

In Rocket Routine OS, that system is there. You set it up in a chat with the Navigator, in about 20 to 30 minutes. Then the meeting rhythm from Daily to Annual and the AI heads for all ten areas are running. An AI agent acts with exactly the rights of the person who asked, and you set the adoption level for each one. It asks before deleting and before changing the company's direction, and nothing leaves the company without your yes. A person checks work that needs a check against the definition of done.

The AI costs money either way. ChatGPT Business costs from $20 per user a month billed annually. Rocket Routine OS works with your own AI: during set-up you connect your own account as your AI, for example Claude or OpenAI, and from then on your own AI does the work. So the difference lies elsewhere: whether you build and run the system for your company yourself, or whether it is there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Rocket Routine OS or ChatGPT?

ChatGPT Work and Dots get tasks done with your tools. The AI agents in Rocket Routine OS do such tasks too, as part of the operating system for the whole company: you set what each AI agent may do alone. ChatGPT itself runs separately from Rocket Routine OS. Your ChatGPT account can, however, be the AI that Rocket Routine OS runs on: during set-up you connect it as your AI.

Why pay for Rocket Routine OS when I can build everything myself with ChatGPT?

With ChatGPT you get strong agents, and for a team it costs from $20 per user a month. The system you lead your company with, you would build and run yourself: goals, a meeting rhythm, decision rights, an adoption level for each AI agent, the check against a definition of done, and an AI head for every area. In Rocket Routine OS it is there, set up in a chat in about 20 to 30 minutes. The AI runs there on your own account, for example Claude or OpenAI.

What is ChatGPT Work?
